Setup
The players set up the terrain as shown on the terrain map.
Deployment
Once the battlefield has been set up, the winner of a roll-off chooses which player will deploy the first unit. The winner of this roll-off must also choose their deployment zone (red or blue), as shown on the map. Players deploy their armies using the alternating units method, as described on page 285 of the core rulebook.
First Turn
Once deployment is complete, the winner of a roll-off decides which player will take the first turn. The player that finished deploying their army first adds +1 to this roll.
Game Length
The battle lasts 6 rounds.
Scenario Special Rules

- No Unit may use either the SCOUTS Special Rule or VANGUARD Special Rule to be within 6” of the Special Feature (Hill)
Victory!
- Slay the foe: Score victory points for destroyed units at the end of the battle equal to half of their Points cost, rounded up.
- The foe is routed! : Score victory points for fleeing units or units at 25% or less than their starting unit strength are worth 25% of their points cost, rounded up.
- Slay the Beasts!: Units with the Subtype of MONSTER or CHARIOT, less than or equal to 25% of their Starting Wounds are worth half their Points cost, rounded up.
- Bring me his Head! : Earn 200 additional Victory points if the enemy general is slain.
- Break Their Spirit! : Earn an additional 100 Victory points if the enemy Battle Standard Bearer has been claimed as a trophy.
- High Ground: Starting on battle round 2, at the End of each player's turn, When Objective control is determined, the player who has Control of the Special Feature (Hill) scores 50 Victory points. The player who controls the Special Feature (Hill) at the end of the game scores an additional 100 Victory points.
- Trophies of war: Gain an additional 50 Victory points for every enemy unit standard claimed as a trophy.
- Strategic Assets: Starting on the second battle round, both players will determine control of each Objective at the end of each player's turn.
- Each Player that Controls at least One Objective scores 50 Victory points.
- A Player who Controls More than Their Opponent does, Scores an additional 50 Victory points.
- If a Single Player controls ALL objectives, they score an additional 50 Victory points.
